He’s got wanderlust and no intention of settling down. She’s home to stay and has put her bad boy ex in her rearview mirror.
After spending his life abroad, embracing his freedom at every turn as a foreign correspondent, Roman Chandler finds himself the brother nominated to deal with his ailing mother’s matchmaking shenanigans. Thanks to a coin toss, he needs to find someone to marry and fast. It shouldn’t be that hard in sleepy Yorkshire Falls where women fall over themselves to hook a Chandler man.
But Roman only wants the one woman who got away.
Charlotte Bronson is back home to put down roots and get her lingerie business off the ground. She’s not interested in her past or a man that chose to chase breaking news stories to the far corners of the earth over her. It’s up to Roman to convince Charlotte he’s a changed man and here to stay.

THE BACHELOR by Carly Phillips
The Bachelor by Carly Phillips is the first book in the Chandler Brothers series.
Roman Chandler is the youngest of the three infamous Chandler brothers. He has spent his adult life as a foreign news correspondent chasing stories all over the world. When he gets word that his mother has a heart issue, he flies back home to be by her side.
Raina Chandler tells her sons, Chase, Rick and Roman, about her heart problems and then tells them that her life dream is to have a grandchild. When the boys flip a coin to see who will be the lucky son to give up their bachelorhood, get married, and then give Raina a grandchild, Roman is the unlucky one!
Roman’s perfect choice of a wife would be someone from Yorkshire Falls, NY, who wants to stay in town, marry a Chandler boy, and not mind if he is rarely home…..this should be easy! There is just one problem with this plan…..Charlotte Bronson, the girl who Roman always wanted, but never had. Charlotte has recently moved back to town and opened up a ladies boutique shop, aptly named Charlotte’s Attic.
The more time Roman spends with Charlotte, the harder he is falling and he may just realize that there could be a great benefit from not traveling as much! Now Roman needs to convince Charlotte that he is really committed to her and will not just be like her wayward dad.
I really loved revisiting this book and the way that it was modernized. It was the first book of Carly Phillip’s I ever read and from there I was hooked. I loved how Roman lost the coin flip, but in the end he really won out! I just adored Charlotte. She had such abandonment issues from her past that it was wonderful to see her deal with those. I also loved Raina. She was such a hoot. I couldn’t imagine doing that to my kids, but it sure was entertaining!
