SWEET RIDE by Breezie Bennett
Matt and Ellie’s love story in Sweet Ride by Breezie Bennett, book six in her South Florida Riders series, is a wonderful, sizzling, emotional and enjoyable tale that once again scores a touchdown and just might be my favorite. I could not put this book down and parts of the story actually made me cry.
Matt McKenzie is the backup quarterback for the South Florida Riders; at least until the starting quarterback injures his shoulder and is benched. Now that Matt is starting, his life is about to change; especially as the team has a chance to make it to the Super Bowl.
Ellie Vice has traveled and explored the world, visiting her billionaire family’s hotel properties to manage PR campaigns. When Matt spends a celebratory night with Ellie, the daughter of the new team owners, their worlds are turned upside down with an unexpected consequence. After telling her family the news, Ellie’s controlling family “grounds” her in Miami, reassigning her to work on the PR for their new NFL team. Her first job is to make South Florida fall in love with the Riders’ second-string quarterback; her baby’s daddy.
Matt believes being a father is the most important job he could ever have and informs Ellie he will be involved in his child’s life. It doesn’t hurt that Matt and Ellie has off the charts chemistry and sizzling electricity when they are together. Imagine how surprised the Vice family are when they learn the identity of the baby’s daddy and will do all they can to make sure she does not fall for him; even threatening his position with the team. Matt and Ellie have a passionate connection with their off the charts, sizzling chemistry and electricity that could light the after game fireworks.
Ms. Bennett wrote a fun, flirty, sizzling sports rom-com that should not be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, humor, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving Matt and Ellie a chance to be a loving family. I highly recommend Sweet Ride to other readers.
I have truly enjoyed reading the South Florida Riders series and am sad that this is its last story.
Ms. Bennett has introduced us to the billionaire team owners, the Miami Vices in this book which leads into her next series that I am looking forward to reading.
