A semi-sweet second-chance rom com!
She broke his heart ten years ago.Now he's back -- and her new boss. And she might still be semi in love with him.
This whole situation is nutty -- including the grandmother who lives with Whitney. And who loves the idea that she and Cam are back together. And invites him to move in.
Cam seems to be all in. In spite of the fact that they are not back together. He’s taking every opportunity to show Whitney everything she gave up all those years ago. Everything. Up close and personal.
Having him back is very sweet and Cam definitely has a way of making her feel warm and gooey... even when he's faking being in love with her.
But soon it’s all crumbling around her. Especially her resolve.
She just can't forget that it's very likely someone is going to get burned.
And she's pretty sure it's going to be her.

SEMI-SWEET ON YOU by Erin Nicholas
Semi-Sweet on You, another delicious book by Erin Nicholas, book four in her Hot Cakes series, is a “can’t put down” story that includes a few of my favorite things. There are chocolate chip cookies. YUM!!!! Then there’s baking, a definite stress relief for me; although the characters found a way to take baking to a whole new level. Lastly, this is a second chance love story for our couple, a favorite trope. I was definitely ready and willing to read this story.
Ten years ago, Whitney broke up with Cam to make sure he left town and made something of himself. Meanwhile, she stayed to work at her family’s Hot Cakes plant. Except, being the only one of the female persuasion meant the men in her family, not her father nor her brothers, supported her ideas or let her take charge of any projects. Only her grandmother, Didi, founder of the company believed in her.
Now, Cam is back, along with his best friends and they bought the Hot Cakes factory. Despite it being the biggest competitor to Cam’s family bakery. Despite Didi and Cam’s grandmother, Letty, being best friends forever, ending their friendship, over Hot Cakes. All in order to save the jobs the company provided for the town; something Whitney’s father and brothers didn’t care about. Not only is Cam back, but he wants her back in his life, his arms, his future. Cam has learned over the past decade, he likes getting his way and doesn’t give up in order to get it.
Whitney, despite still being a bit in love with him, fears that she could never get what she truly wants. After all, she was trained to believe that way by her father. Now, Whitney needs to learn to trust herself and go after whatever it is she wants; Cam, partnership, leadership position, respect. After ten years, their chemistry has not dimmed, sizzling enough to light up the town. With the help of a mischievous grandmother, a hysterical baking contest, naughty cookie dough, alpacas, cameos by the entire gang, and some heartwarming scenes, Cam just might convince Whitney to take another chance on him.
Ms. Nicholas creates her characters to be appealing, magnetic, sizzling and ready for some action. Once again she outdid herself by writing an amazing, sizzling story with a charming, stubborn hero and a heroine in need of being loved and accepted, that should definitely not be missed. Plus again, I learned some new uses for cookie dough, during foreplay. This is a tale rich with emotions, sizzling chemistry, sassy and charming characters, supporting Whitney and Cam a second chance at forever love. I highly recommend Semi-Sweet on You to other readers and cannot wait for the next book in this series.
