Wall Street Journal bestselling author Ilsa Madden-Mills delivers a smart and sexy contemporary romance about a smoking-hot professional football player and the small-town girl he can’t resist.
We start off with a lie on Valentine’s Day.
My blind date isn’t the studious guy I expected: he’s a drop-dead gorgeous player with sinful amber eyes. Somehow we end up at his penthouse. I blame the gin and tonic.
The next day I learn he’s Jack Hawke—bad-boy professional quarterback with a murky past. The NDA he has me sign should be a warning that he isn’t a regular person. Please. I sign it Juliet Capulet, so goodbye, famous football player with abs of steel, and good luck tracking down this small-town librarian.
But Jack keeps showing up in places I least expect him. Just when I’m sure he’s gone, he waltzes into my community theater and wins the part of Romeo to my Juliet. How’s a plain, mostly innocent girl like me supposed to resist a man like him?
Is Jack my real Romeo… or will this gorgeous football player only break my heart?

Elena Riley’s life sucks. She was recently dumped by her boyfriend, Preston, so he could date her sister, Giselle! When her friend and roommate, Topher, fixes her up on a blind date on Valentine’s Day with a local weatherman, she reluctantly goes. When Elena walks into the restaurant and sees a man wearing what Topher described to her, she goes and introduces herself and sits down. After some awkward conversations and a few drinks later, Elena ends up going back to the guy’s apartment for a night of fun that blows her mind, and then sneaks out afterwards.
The next day Elena realizes that she was not with said weatherman…..she was with Jack Hawke…..star quarterback of the Nashville Tigers. She is mortified, but little does she know that she now has the attention of hot QB. While Jack keeps pursuing Elena, she is just as quickly trying to hide from him. It seems that even the universe is out to get her because now Jack is starring in her town’s small town production of Romeo and Julliete, as Romeo, while she is Julliete. Of course the more time these two spend together, the more the chemistry is off the charts.
Elena may have thought that she was better matched to the quiet, pristine, Preston, but it looks as if a certain hot, intense quarterback is just what she really needed.
I really enjoyed this story. I loved Jack! He was still hot and all alpha but he also had some flaws that many people didn’t know about. I really loved his relationship with his bestie, Quinn. Elena at times did get on my nerves as sometimes she was being too passive. If my sister ever took my boyfriend, I wouldn’t have been so nice! 😉 Overall Not My Romeo was a fun, entertaining story with some good laugh out loud moments.
