  1. Yay, I guessed correct. What a hard career. One of my daughter's friends did this. She didn't last very long. She said it was stressful.

  2. Sarah Andre's Fun Fact is #8 Speech Therapist! Sarah shares: "Like many women in the early 90's I drifted into a Masters in Speech-Language Pathology because I'd seen Children of a Lesser God. :)During the two years in school we had to do practicums in each of the disorders: stuttering, Voice disorders (like working with singers who yell their lyrics), language or speech impediments in school settings (which was pure babysitting), communicating with the deaf (loved it) and adult neurological disorders like strokes, traumatic brain injuries and Alzheimer's, When I got to this last practicum I realized I was put on this earth to work with stroke patients. I loved every minute of theirmotivation and perseverance. What burned me out was the outrageous stinginess of Medicare and HMO approval. Towards the end they would grant 15 minutes of speech therapy a day, which broke my heart. I couldn't stay in a business knowing how much I could do for these brave folks and not being allowed to do more than train the family in those 15 minutes so they could help him."
