DARE TO PLAY by Carly Phillips
Macy Walker has sole custody of her fifteen year old half-sister, Hannah, after their dad passed away eight months ago. When Hannah’s mom, Lilah, comes back claiming to want custody, Macy knows something is up and will fight hard to keep her sister.
Jaxon Prescott may be the star pitcher for the Miami Eagles but his off the field playboy persona keeps getting him in trouble. His next step out of line could result in him getting traded.
Jaxon makes Macy and offer she can’t refuse…..let’s get married! It will have to be a real marriage and then after enough time they can have it annulled. This will help both of their immediate problems. Now if they can only they can keep their hearts out of the deal. Of course the more time Macy and Jaxon spend together, the more real their marriage gets until they both realize that they really don’t want their marriage to end.
Between dealing with a 15 year old teenager, a crazy step-mother, and the large Prescott/Dare family Macy and Jaxon have their hands full but in the long run, true love wins!
I really enjoyed Dare To Play. Marriages of convenience are always a fun trope to read. Jaxon is the typical playboy who doesn’t want to settle down because of things from his past but now that he has found the right girl, he is singing a different tune! Macy is a hard working, selfless heroine who only wants what is best for her sister and in providing just that, she finds true love. Overall this was an entertaining and wonderful story.
