Learn some fun facts about Sariah in this short Q&A. Leave a question on the blog for a chance to win #Starstruck!
1. What genre(s) do you write?

2. Coffee or tea lover?

I do! I have two long-haired, fluffy cats, Callie and Pixel. We also have a bunny named Lucky.

5. When I wake up every morning I…I hit the snooze button and try to sleep for five more minutes. I am not a fan of mornings.
6. Weirdest or unique thing you own.
Probably a green button-down shirt that my favorite ex-soap opera star wore on his show. It’s even autographed.
7. Do you have any hobbies or particular skills?
Hobbies – I love doing elaborate/difficult cross-stitch projects and watching TV (usually at the same time). As for particular skills, probably baking (much like my heroine, Zoe, in #Starstruck).
8. What do you hope readers will experience or gain when reading your stories?
My younger sister died when I was 17. All my mother wanted to do was watch rom-coms and read romances. Because for a few hours, she forgot her pain and grief. That’s what I want to accomplish with my books. To entertain, uplift and make it so that for a short time, readers can let go of their problems and stresses and just escape into something that makes them laugh, makes them sigh and makes the rest of the world fall away.
9. What inspired you to write Starstruck?
The first thing that inspired me is that I am (and have always been) a major fangirl. I love pop culture and have had tons of favorite celebrities over the years. Like actor Justin Baldoni, currently starring on “Jane the Virgin.” I’m #TeamRafael (his character) and have tweeted as much. Once he favorited my tweet, and I may or may not have squealed (full disclosure: I totally did). But then I tweeted about being excited, despite the fact that it was probably his assistant or publicist. To my shock and great delight he responded, “No, it’s me.” (This exchange is in #Starstruck, just altered a little.)
The other inspiration I had was actor Jake T. Austin. He had a superfan named Danielle who tweeted him for years, professing her undying devotion and adoration. She was determined to meet him and eventually did. Something magical must have happened at their first meeting, as not too long after Jake posted a picture on Instagram of him and Danielle kissing. They’ve been together ever since. The online fan community lost their collective minds over this – “If she can go from fan to girlfriend, SO CAN I.” I had to make my own fictional rendering of this endearing story, which is how #Starstruck came to be!

Bestselling author Sariah Wilson has never jumped out of an airplane, never climbed Mt. Everest, and is not a former CIA operative. She has, however, been madly, passionately in love with her soulmate and is a fervent believer in happily ever afters–which is why she writes romance. She grew up in southern California, graduated from Brigham Young University (go Cougars!) with a semi-useless degree in history, and is the oldest of nine (yes, nine) children. She currently lives with the aforementioned soulmate and their four children in Utah, along with two cats and a rabbit.

  1. My sister passed away, too, and I know how hard that is. I love that you write for those needing a little break, space or time away from things. Reading for me is one of my best "get aways" or de-stressers. I have enjoyed your books that I've read so far and can't wait to read more. #Starstruck is definitely a favorite!

  2. Staying a castle in Ireland sounds like something I should add to my own bucket list. Oh and I am also NOT a morning person. I have 8 children, and somehow, all but one are morning people. Makes for some rough mornings for me sometimes.

  3. ***FRIENDS! If you commented and don't see it here, rest assured that I have your entries. I made a switch in settings that allows VARIOUS ways to log in to comment. I had it set for only Google+ members. My bad! I'm going to figure out a way to repost your entries manually so that they're visible.

I have had a number of crushes which could have left me like this, but two embarrassing anecdotes. Once I bumped into a comedian who lived near me, as I realised afterwards, at a McDonalds. He looked very familiar, so I said an enthusiastic "hi, how are you?" and spent thirty minutes afterwards trying to work out whether I knew him from my children's schools or from parents association or what, until it dawned on me that I had seen him on TV. I also once saw a lovely journalist, whom I really admired, in a narrow corridor at an airport, and we did that embarrassing left / right / left / right dance where we both tried to let the other past. I said "I really like what you do" and he went bright red and said "why don't you go past?" and my moment was lost forever…
